Under-used car park to EV Fleet Hub

Portsmouth has unveiled its first Micro Logistics Hub—a groundbreaking initiative that brings together parcels from national couriers and local businesses at a single location, before dispatching them throughout the city using eco-friendly cargo cycles. Developed in partnership with innovative real estate and micro-hub specialists Decarbon Logistics Solutions (a Volofleet portfolio company), Solent Future Transport Zone, and Portsmouth City Council, and operated by Delivery Mates, the hub is designed to ease congestion and boost air quality by reducing the number of delivery vans on the roads. During its 12-month trial, the hub will process up to 1,000 parcels daily, with its effectiveness carefully evaluated to determine if this clean, efficient delivery model can offer a sustainable, cost-effective solution for Portsmouth’s vibrant urban environment.
